Gaggia Coffee Machines

Gaggia - The Italian brand, which was founded in 1948, which gave rise to the taste of the beloved Espresso. In 1977, the company began to produce espresso machines for the home, which to this day are considered ideal coffee makers.

The main advantages include reading traditions and attention to details, due to which some coffee machine models have a special stand for cups in their design, which in itself is very convenient, as it saves you from having to look for them for a long time.

Gaggia semi-automatic devices are easy to maintain and clean. Some of them even have a special component that signals the need for descaling. Such functionality will help to keep the device clean and tidy, thereby prolonging its service life.

As for automatic coffee machines, it is perfectly used in any field of activity, especially where there is high traffic and it is necessary to prepare drinks quickly. All that is needed is to pre-set the parameters, fill in the grains and pour water, and the machine itself will grind the coffee of the required grinding, brew it, pour it into cups, and send the waste to a special container.

Gaggia - Italian manufacturer of coffee machines.

History

The owner of the bar in Milan, Giovanni Achil Gaggia, experimented with coffee machines of the time. He was not satisfied with the quality of preparation of the available equipment, but he managed to develop a rotating screw piston, which he connected to the boiler of the coffee machine. A piston pressurized water through pressed ground coffee. The main feature of Gadzhia’s invention was the exclusion of the direct participation of hot steam for making coffee. On September 5, 1938, the inventor obtained patent No. 365726 for the production of piston (lever or lever) espresso coffee makers.

Gadzhia installed a new machine in his cafe-bar. During the extraction of coffee, an aromatic microdispersed foam called cream was formed on its surface, and the drink itself was called espresso. Gadzhia finalized the device of his coffee machine, adding a spring to the design of the lever piston. Due to this improvement, the lever pressure applied to the coffee has become independent of the pressure in the boiler. The spring allows you to quickly pass the required amount of hot water through the coffee tab to get the best taste of the drink.

Gaggia was founded in Milan in 1947 and officially registered in 1948. In the same year, the company began production of the Gaggia Gilda model, the first home coffee machine. She was named after the heroine of Rita Hayworth in the 1946 film of the same name. The company continues to produce quality espresso (as well as accessories) from classic hand-made machines to innovative super-automatic models recently added to the line. The company's manufacturing facilities are still located in Milan. In 2015, production was launched in Romania.

About Brand

The brand was founded in Italy in the post-war period: in 1948, the first patent for the invention of an espresso coffee machine without steam was obtained, where pressure was pumped up by a pump. This radically changed the taste of the drink, it became less bitter, and at the same time more saturated, with a bright aroma. In addition, due to pressure, a dense golden cream foam appeared. Consumers quickly appreciated the new product and production was actively developing.

In 1999, Saeco Corporation bought Gaggia, but the legal entity remained separate, so they began to produce coffee machines under both brands. In 2009, Philips bought both of them, still leaving separate brands.

  • Production facilities remained separate. Gaggia has its main factory in Italy, and the additional production opened in Romania in 2015.
  • Technically, the interior of Gaggia, Saeco and Philips is the same.
  • Most Gadjiy coffee machines have full analogs in the Saeko line, but the latter is positioned as a premium brand and costs more.

Among the regular customers using Gaggia coffee machines in Russia are companies such as METRO, Moscow Theater P. Fomenko, TransNeft, BinBank and others.
